Description
The Philadelphia Phillies are a storied major league baseball franchise with a Phanatic-ally loyal fan base. And while their on-the-field product keeps the fans coming back year after year, the team’s executive management is equally strong.

Chief Financial Officer John Nickolas has primary responsibility for the team’s financial operations. He joined the Phillies organization in July 2003 and was named senior vice president and chief financial officer in 2017, after spending the previous 10 years as vice president, chief financial officer. Nickolas’ portfolio also includes business analytics, Florida operations, and minor league franchise business operations. In addition, he currently serves as a trustee of Major League Baseball’s Non-Uniformed Personnel Pension Plan and chairs the MLB Eastern Region group. Prior to joining the Phillies, John served in a variety of financial and operational roles for Internet Capital Group, Inc., Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. and KPMG LLP. He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

A Philadelphia native, Nickolas is a 1985 graduate of the city’s Archbishop Ryan High School and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from West Chester University in 1990. He has served as a member of West Chester University’s Business School Advisory Council and a trustee of the university’s foundation.
