COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions

The answers we have provided are based on what is currently known about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Herbein will update this document as needed and as additional information becomes available.

Q: Are there any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Herbein?
A: No. However, Herbein continues to take wider-ranging actions that support the health and safety of our people, our clients, and our communities to contribute to the work going on around the world to slow the spread of this disease.

Q: How is Herbein impacted by the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak?
A: Herbein is monitoring the situation closely and has already moved quickly to take action to minimize potential risk for Herbein team members and our clients. We have well-established processes to coordinate our efforts during outbreaks like COVID-19, including our pandemic action plan and internal critical response and business continuity plans.

Q: What is the impact on operations at Herbein?
A: Currently, Herbein is operating at Level 2 on our Pandemic Action Plan.

Q: How will the outbreak impact the completion of my business’ audit?
A: While Herbein is operating at Level 2 on our Pandemic Action Plan, should remote work be required, we are confident can successfully our clients’ audit needs.

Q: Will the March 15 and April 15 tax filings be extended?
A: These deadlines remain unchanged. U.S. President Donald Trump announced March 12 that he will instruct the Treasury Department to allow individuals and businesses negatively affected by COVID-19 to defer their tax payments beyond the April 15 filing deadline.

Q: How is Herbein working to ensure a safe, healthy workplace?
A: In addition to the measures and guidance listed above, we have activated our COVID-19 crisis management team, which is meeting regularly to set policies for and issue operational guidance to Herbein team members.

Q: What about Herbein team members returning from travel? Are they being quarantined?
A:
We’re following CDC guidance on this as well. U.S. citizens and permanent residents returning from Designated Level 3 areas are subject to health monitoring and quarantine for up to 14 days. Anyone returning from those areas must self-isolate at home rather than returning to work.

Q: Does Herbein have a quarantine protocol in place?
A: Yes. Herbein’s emergency plans include a pandemic protocol that covers, among other contingencies, the need for quarantine.

Q: Is Herbein restricting visitors to its offices or curtailing events?
A: All Herbein offices are closed to outside visitors, including clients. Herbein professionals are contacting clients about accessing their information. We understand that the decisions we make will disappoint some and create logistical challenges for others, but we believe that these choices are in the best interests of Herbein.
