Cathleen (Cathy) Christy joined Herbein as a manager in 2023 after Creese, Smith, Hune & Co. LLC joined forces with Herbein.
Cathy has over 35 years of experience, and is a member of our tax department.
A certified public accountant, Cathy primarily specializes in retirement planning. She also has expertise in audits of retirement plans, small business, and HUD-related projects. In addition, she performs compilation and review services and prepares individual and corporate tax returns.
A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Cathy continues to improve her education both academically and professionally. She has completed and passed the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist program (CEBS) through the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. Cathy also completes a minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education per year.
Beyond Herbein
Cathy is married, and she and her husband have one child. They live in Saxonburg, PA, and stay busy with all of their son’s sports activities.
