Herbein Hero – Berks County Police Heroes Fund
2019 Q1

Herbein is pleased to announce the Berks County Police Heroes Fund as the first recipient of the 2019 Herbein Community Heroes Award for the donation amount of $1,000 (first quarter).

Each year the Berks Lodge #71 Fraternal Order of Police organizes an event called “Run for The Heroes” which benefits the Berks County Police Heroes Fund. The Berks County Police Heroes Fund benefits disabled police and families of the fallen Police Officers of Berks County, including members of Berks County Law Enforcement, Reading Police, and the Pennsylvania State Police (serving Berks County). Additionally this year, some of the the funds will go towards upgrades to the memorial including a granite memorial with the photos of our 18 Heroes and their personal story.

The event began in 2012, and last year was able to raise over $10,000. Police officers risk their lives every day to help the community, and this nonprofit is very important to the families. The Berks Lodge #71 FOP wants to let sponsors, supporters, participants, volunteers, and officers know how much they mean to this event and the benefiting families.

This year is the 7th Annual Heroes Run and every year is bigger and better!  The 2019 run is scheduled for Saturday, August 24, 2019, and will be held at the Berks Lodge 71 Fraternal Order of Police Memorial near the Berks County Heritage Center. Participants are able to run a 10K, 5K or 1-mile runs and kids fun run as a way to show support for law enforcement.

Thank you to the Berks County Police Heroes Fund organizers for all that you do for our community!
