David F. Cordier, CPA, MST manages the firm’s Allison Park office. He became a partner in 2017 and focuses on middle-market clients in both the Allison Park and Pittsburgh offices.
David has over 30 years of tax experience including tax compliance, planning, analysis, research and representation before taxing authorities. His expertise includes working with closely-held businesses and their owners to develop tax strategies to maximize cash flow and financial position. For individual taxpayers, his goal is to lower their current tax obligations while minimizing future tax liabilities through wealth transferring strategies. Key industries for David include manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, car dealerships and real estate.
He also has significant experience in multi-state taxation, especially in manufacturing and service sectors. The ever-changing world of state taxation, in which states continually seek to increase revenue, provides challenges for taxpayers trying to minimize their state tax obligations. David helps his clients navigate these challenges through various measures including the use of accelerated depreciation and other expenses and the deferral of income.
David especially enjoys working with his clients during business transactions. Whether it involves tax ramifications of a fixed asset purchase or a more complicated decision such as entity structure during a business acquisition, he plays a key role in helping his clients make tax and financial decisions. Explains David, “There is nothing more important to me than to be there for my clients to help them manage their businesses. Many decisions have a connection between business and personal demands. It is important for me to provide thorough and timely answers to my clients’ questions and to consider the impact on all parties involved.”
