Frank E. O'Brien

Being hands-on, and getting to know a client's business is important, and it helps us be proactive for our clients.

A Herbein Partner, Frank E. O'Brien, CPA, MT, works primarily out of our firm’s Marlton, New Jersey office.  For over 30 years, he has directed services for clients in the construction, real estate, software and IT, manufacturing, and wholesale distribution industries, as well as for healthcare professionals and other service-based business organizations.

Frank is a member of the firm’s executive leadership team, and also plays a key role as the partner-in-charge for the Spring House, PA and Marlton, NJ offices.  He provides leadership, management, and strategic direction for the firm’s presence in these markets.

Licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Frank serves numerous business clients with a presence in multiple states.  He serves as the engagement partner for their annual reviewed or audited financial statements and possesses extensive tax experience as well.  Particularly with state allocation rules and multi-state business tax returns. His expertise also includes transactions surrounding mergers and acquisitions (M&A), succession planning, and 1031 exchanges, offering valuable insights and guidance to clients navigating these complex areas.

Frank's advanced computer hardware and software skills allow him to assist clients with implementing new accounting software. He has extensive experience with QuickBooks, both desktop and online versions, and also has experience with NetSuite, Acumatica, Sage, and Construction Manager.

Outside Herbein, Frank has actively participated in various fundraising activities for local organizations and the Arthritis Foundation Walk held in Philadelphia.
