Rebholz Elected Secretary of Society for Human Resource Management - Berks County Chapter

MELISSA REBHOLZ ELECTED SECRETARY OF SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT – BERKS COUNTY CHAPTER

Rebholz is the human resources team leader at Mid-Atlantic accounting firm Herbein & Company, Inc. 

READING, PA  Melissa A. Rebholz, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has been elected secretary of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) – Berks County Chapter. Her appointment was effective in May.

Rebholz is the human resources manager of Herbein + Company, Inc. (Herbein), a leading Mid-AtlanticMR-Head_Web accounting and consulting firm headquartered in Reading, PA, with offices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. At Herbein, Rebholz oversees employee relations, talent acquisition, change management, training and development, performance management, benefits administration, employee and labor policies.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the largest HR professional organization in the world with 300,000 members in over 165 countries. For nearly seven decades, the Society has been the leading provider of resources serving the HR profession.  The 190-strong SHRM-Berks membership includes HR practitioners, HR service providers, and educators in HR related fields.

With over 22 years of HR experience, Rebholz has a diverse background in leadership and people strategies across various well-known organizations and industries. Before joining Herbein, Rebholz was the corporate recruiter for Penn National Gaming, a publicly-traded racing and gaming leader with 41 facilities in 19 jurisdictions. She also served as regional HR director for the Pennsylvania State University, as well as senior HR business partner at Worley Parsons Limited (Worley), a global engineering company providing project delivery and consulting services to the resources and energy sectors, and complex process industries. Earlier in her career, Rebholz was HR recruiting manager at STV, an award-winning professional firm consistently ranked among the country's top companies in education, corrections, highways, bridges, rail and mass transit sectors. 

Rebholz actively participates in several professional and community organizations. She is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and is active in the Women2Women group within the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance. A Berks County native, Rebholz volunteers in programs such as Junior Achievement’s Career Readiness program and the Berks County Intermediate Unit’s Career Ready Berks Pathway Advisory Panel.

Rebholz holds a BA in political science/public administration from the Pennsylvania State University.
