July 2017 Herbein Hero – Berks Lodge #71 Fraternal Order of Police
Herbein is pleased to announce Berks Lodge #71 Fraternal Order of Police as the recipient of the July 2017 Herbein Community Heroes Award.
Each year the Berks Lodge #71 Fraternal Order of Police organizes an event called “Run for The Heroes” which benefits families of the fallen Police Officers of Berks County. This non-profit event is very important to these families. Police officers risk their lives every day to help the community. They are human, there isn't a button that shuts off when they come home.
This year is the 5th Annual Heroes Run and every year is bigger and better! The Berks Lodge #71 FOP wants to let sponsors, supporters, participants, volunteers and of course the officers know how much they mean to the organizations. This year, guest speakers Alecia Pagerly and Trish Wertz will let everyone know what this race means to them. They are just two of the wives of the fallen officers. Officer Greg Harwell will be proudly singing the National Anthem. Not every officer knows each other, yet the run allows them and their families to bond in a way like no other.
