Meet Lauren - 2017 Tax Intern
Hi again!
This is now my 3rd internship with Herbein + Company, and I could not be happier to be back!
I am currently a senior accounting major at Albright College and a member of the Dearden Honor Society. I will be graduating in May with over 150 credit hours and will begin studying for the CPA exam shortly after. It is definitely bittersweet to be graduating, but I am excited for my career in the field of accounting. I am very fortunate to have accepted full-time employment with Herbein’s Tax Department, and I am cannot wait to begin my career at the firm that I love.
This time around is different than my first internship so far because I have been working on business tax returns, such as C Corp, S Corp, and Partnership returns. Occasionally, I get to do individual returns (1040s), which is a nice refresher of my first internship. Because I will be working in the tax department after graduation, I have been given more staff level work, which has been challenging yet rewarding. I have learned a lot so far and I know that everything I can and have absorbed from my three internships will benefit me in the years to come.
Not much else has changed since last year. I still love to workout and stay fit, watch Netflix, and do Sudoku puzzles! I am extremely thankful for all three internships I have had with Herbein + Company! Because I had experience in both the tax and audit departments, I was able to meet and work closely with many of the employees at Herbein, and I am glad to call them my coworkers and friends. This opportunity has been a blessing, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds!
