Joann Pun - Herbein Intern
Summing It Up So Far
It’s already July, can you believe it?! My summer feels as if it is flying by and I am running behind, not ready to catch up. So many things are happening – both professionally and personally – and I’m excited to be surrounded by so many projects. So far at work, I’ve been helping out with school district audit planning and EBPs (Employee Benefit Plans) – can you believe how much Herbein trusts us with responsibilities? First “real” day of work (not including training days) and I am already out at the field – it’s so exciting! So far, looking at my schedule, I am usually out at the client’s location on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and in the office Thursdays and Fridays – those two latter days are going to be spent writing articles for the Marketing Department and researching for our intern summer project (more on that in another post). I’m glad that I am kept busy and that’s another reason why the time is passing relatively quickly. There’s just a little over one month left to this internship – I can’t believe it (something I just realized, so don’t mind that I am in a rather shocked state of mind at the moment).
Oh, I also forgot to mention something super awesome (dun Dun DUN) – I got a call one day for my name plate! That sounds so official, I know. Soon I will get to see my name on a gold plate at my office space/work desk area. I don’t know about you but I got slightly giddy (not jumping up and down but close enough) when I got that phone call. Hmmm, it’s almost like the feeling when you get the first batch of your own business cards – they’re yours (all yours) and now you have a formal presence at your company that you can present to other people (if that makes any sense). So that’s that – I am sure that I will have more amazing news for all of you soon that I will happily post in the upcoming weeks.
