Final Internship Summary

Victoria – 2013 Tax Intern
From Wyomissing, PA – Albright College Lions
Visited/toured Herbein while a high school student!

I cannot believe how quickly April 15th came and that my internship is complete. My internship at Herbein + Company has been a wonderful experience and I would recommend doing an internship with Herbein + Company to anyone interested in getting some real world experience. I was able to implement what I learned in the classroom to my internship, which is truly a rewarding experience. I was offered a full time position with the firm for after I graduate in the summer of 2014 as well as the opportunity to work for the firm next tax season. I was so excited that I was offered another chance to come back and continue my career at Herbein + Company.

My time at Herbein definitely follows the motto of "work hard, play hard". Tax season can be a very stressful time when meeting the April 15th deadline is crucial, however, Herbein understands the importance of relaxation. There were so many opportunities to relax and have fun. A few days every week there was Yoga and Strength classes and every so often there was a massage therapist that would come in so that you could get a chair massage. There were also many times that lunch was brought into the office for everyone. Lets be honest, who doesn't like free food? These fun and relaxing opportunities I had made my internship experience even better. We also had an ice cream social and the ice cream was delicious! My favorite event at the firm was the March Madness Party. The firm brought in pizza, snacks, and desserts all while we were able to watch basketball on the big screen.

One of my other favorite things about the firm was that all of the interns were invited to the Herbein Holiday Party as well has the celebration for the 40th Anniversary of Herbein + Company. Both of these events took place before the internship started so being able to attend these events was a nice way to meet some of the Herbein staff members before my internship started.

On April 15th, as an end of the tax season celebration, everyone at the firm went bowling. We had a blast and it was a nice way to celebrate the end of a very hectic tax season.
