With this year’s annual deŽ cit again over $1 trillion, and the total cumulative federal debt now over $16 trillion, it has been called by our country’s top economists, businessmen, and government o‹ cials, the greatest threat to capitalism and perhaps to our very form of government. Even though there are several proposals to deal with this, Congress is divided and dysfunctional, with each side unable or unwilling to seriously debate them. On top of all this, we face the so called “Ž fiscal cliff ” at year end.
